What to do in Humahuaca: what's good to know.
Layered clothing, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat and water. In the Quebrada the temperature changes a lot between day and night.
Humahuaca sits at about 2,950 meters, and some routes go over 4,000 (the Abra del Cóndor pass, on the road to Iruya) or reach 4,550 (the road to Santa Ana). Take it slowly and tell your guide if you don't feel well.
Plan your days around each tour. With the selector above you can see which ones fit your trip, and Tatiana helps you put it all in order.
The date, how many of you there are, the current price and what's included. For Salinas Grandes and Iruya, Tatiana asks for the full name and ID or passport number of each passenger and a 50% deposit.
With Tatiana, from Humahuaca Travel. You deal directly with her, from your booking until the day of the tour.
Yes. You choose the tour, fill in your details on this same page and Tatiana confirms by WhatsApp. That way you arrive with everything arranged.
At the Humahuaca Bus Terminal, Office 5. That is the meeting point: your booking is with Tatiana, from Humahuaca Travel.
The Hornocal: per person $25.000 · private $100.000; Salinas Grandes: per person $65.000; Iruya: per person $65.000; Santa Ana: per person (recommended option) $100.000 · private $400.000. Tatiana confirms prices and conditions when she arranges your booking.
For Salinas Grandes and Iruya: the full name and ID or passport number of each passenger, and a 50% deposit. For the other tours, Tatiana tells you what she needs when you arrange the booking. Your booking is confirmed once Tatiana replies on WhatsApp.
Once Tatiana confirms your booking she tells you the deposit amount, and you pay it by bank transfer to one of these accounts: Mercado Pago, alias Humahuaca.travel (in the name of Tatiana Nayra del Milagro Cabana), or a bank account, alias Maximotour (in the name of Flores Gloria Selva: Gloria is Tatiana's mom and part of the Humahuaca Travel team). If that name shows up when you transfer, it's correct. If in doubt, ask Tatiana before paying. If you are paying from outside Argentina, tell Tatiana on WhatsApp and she'll let you know the options available.
Salinas Grandes, Iruya and Santa Ana are done in a 4x4 pickup that holds 4 to 6 people at most. At the Hornocal, the private service is for a maximum of 4 passengers.
Community toll: $2.000 per person, paid on arrival.
It depends on what you want to see. The Hornocal, Salinas Grandes and Iruya are done in a day. The recommended Santa Ana option includes a night there, so it takes 2 days. Try the What would you like to discover? tool to see where to start, and Tatiana will help you plan your route.
Layered clothing, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat and water. The Quebrada has big temperature swings between day and night. Some tours go above 4,000 meters of altitude.
